Join a Public Event

Numerous public fishing events are organized across the province. These events are perfect for meeting fellow fishing enthusiasts and learning new techniques.

Host Your Own Family Fishing Event

Prefer a more private experience? Host your own event, fish with your family and friends and submit your event to receive a free digital fishing package. You’ll also be entered into a draw for a $500 Fishing Prize Pack, featuring gear from Lucky Strike, Shimano, and Ontario OUT of DOORS magazine.

Fish On Your Own

Whether it’s just you or you and a few close friends or family, you can also enjoy these licence-free fishing periods anywhere you can legally fish in Ontario.

Double Your Chances to Win

In addition to the event draw, a photo contest will be held on social media from June 29 to July 7. Share your best fishing moments for another chance to win the $500 Fishing Prize Pack. It’s a wonderful way to showcase your fishing adventures and connect with the community.

Important Fishing Regulations

Even during free fishing periods, it’s crucial to follow all fishing regulations to help preserve Ontario’s rich aquatic resources.

Participants must:

  • Follow conservation licence catch limits.
  • Adhere to size limits and respect sanctuaries.
  • Comply with all fishing regulations.
  • Carry a permit or identification card issued by the provincial or federal government, displaying your name and date of birth.

Being mindful of these regulations helps maintain the sustainability of our public fisheries.
